We acknowledge and respect the traditional lands and territories of the Indigenous Peoples who have lived here and been stewards of the land and people since time immemorial. What became known as the Province of Alberta in 1905 is the traditional and ancestral home to many Indigenous Peoples, Metis, and Inuit. We honour the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are here today and those who have gone before us.  As Treaty 6, 7, and 8 partners, we acknowledge our responsibility to uphold Treaty obligations and seek to uphold all acts of reconciliation, as outlined by the national Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action.  We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting.
