Fran's Story: I am scared to get sick

For the first time while living in Alberta, I am scared to get sick.

I’m a senior living in Edmonton. The UCP has done two things that personally impacted me:

My doctor of 26 years retired this year. I have been unable to find a new female doctor in Edmonton. No female doctors are available, let alone one willing to take on new patients. I am 72 years old and require a doctor with which I am comfortable.

For the first time while living in Alberta, I am scared to get sick. I have heard horror stories of people dying in the emergency rooms, an ambulance taking hours to arrive, or the ambulance does not arrive at all. As I do not have a family doctor anymore, my only resource for any health issues would be the emergency room.

I collect the Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security for my income. I cannot trust the UCP to control the CPP fund as an Alberta Pension Plan. I watched what the UCP did with de-indexing the Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) fund. Also, the AIMCO fund has either lost money or has not kept up with the earnings of the Federal CPP.  The UCP did not contribute one dime to our CPP.

Danielle Smith has already suggested using Heritage Trust Fund money to finance Oil and Gas companies that would otherwise not get funding from a financial institute or investors.
There is a reason a Financial Institute does not approve loans, if the UCP use our public funds to finance any of these O&G (or other) companies that do not qualify for conventional loans, then our tax dollars used to fund these failing companies are doomed to default.
